THEMATIC CARICATURE: Agnaldo Timóteo (ACQUISITIVE) singer and Edil from S.Paulo city.All the works inscribed in this category, independently to be selected or not, will be acquisitives for the Cultural Station Association of Caratinga.
3. TECHINIQUES: Dimension: 30 cm X 40 cm
Number of works: Each competitor will be able to participate with to three works for each category, that has not won at no other gallery or salon.The works must be unpublished and original. It won’t be accepted photocopies or computer reproductions.
4.AWARDNESS: It will be awarded a total of R$20 thousand Reais in prizes, divided as follows:
A) Three Prizes for 1st Place on the value of R$3,000,00 for each category;B) Three Prizes for 2nd Place on the value of R$ 2,000,00 for each category;C) Three Prizes for 3rd Place on the value of R$ 1,000,00 for each category;D) A prize for the 1st Place “Popular Vote” on the value of R$1,000,00 among the categories;E) A 1st Place prize to “Thematic Category” on the value of R$2,000,00.
The prizes in cash will be paid by Caratinga City Hall .
(*) All the finalists mentioned above will receive the “Pererê Trophy”, besides the prizes in cash; all of them offered by Caratinga City Council.It will be awarded by the Judging Commission five Certificates of Honorable Indication in all categories.
5. JUDMENT:
There will be a jury for selection and another one for awardness, made up by specialized people on the area.
The awardness jury keeps itself the right of not designating prizes to the categories which don’t achieve a sufficient level, transferring them to other categories or creating a special prize of the Salon. If the awardness jury confirms any kind of irregularity, fraud or plagiarism in one of the inscribed works, it will be able to cancel the award , offering the same one to the following artist from classification list. Awarded works will be spread on the Salon’s site after its opening and they will be contested in the period of one week after salon’s opening with reasonable proves on any irregularity done without jury’s knowledge. Another prizes and indications will be set according to Organizer Commission.All of them ACQUISITIVE.

Eleições Autarquicas por Zé Manel
Just explain it simply – the financial crisis and poverty
In the autumn of 2008, many people were caught off guard when terms such as “financial crisis” and “banking crisis” began making the news. For too long, the proponents of a free market economy have interpreted globalization as solely an economic matter, and have advocated unfettered markets - neoliberalism. Suddenly, the contradictions within this viewpoint became more noticable. The recent crisis appears to have had its origins in the uncontrolled growth of financial markets. The financial crisis has in turn begun to aggravate the crisis of economies already marked by stagnation and rising unemployment. And the real losers of this financial and economic crisis will obviously be the poor and the poorest. But how are these economic forces interrelated? Why do society’s poorest bear the brunt of the crisis, when in fact the money has been gambled away in the boardrooms of major corporations? We are looking for critical and satirical observations/commentaries which confront the causes and effects of the financial crisis, and the related contradictions and conflicts, on both a small and large scale.Explain it simply — through means of cartoons and caricatures.
Conditions for participation:
1. The title of this competition for cartoons and caricatures is „JUST EXPLAIN IT SIMPLY – THE FINANCIAL CRISIS AND POVERTY“.
2. The call for entries is directed towards all cartoonists.
3. Deadline: Submissions must be mailed by 07th of November, 2009 to TALIDE e.V., Waldemarstraße 33, 18057 Rostock, Germany. Submissions postmarked later than 07th Nov. will not be accepted in the competition. The words „Erklär’s mal einfach“ must be written on the entry envelope.
4. Each participant may submit a maximum of three artworks. The artworks must be originals. They may not be have been submitted to other competitions. Captions should be either in German, Spanish or the English language.
5. Only the submitting artist’s original works are permitted.
6. Maximum format of the artworks: A4 (210 x 297 mm). The artwork should not be framed. There are no restrictions concerning artistic technique. The proposed works should also be sent to TALIDE by email. Please use the email form on the project homepage. Use JPG as your file format, 300 dpi image resolution.
7. On the reverse side of the original artworks should be written the full name, postal address, email address and phone number of the artist.
8. Also include a short C.V. (curriculum vitae), max. one A4 page, and a photo or a self-caricature of the artist.
9. Participation in the competition must be declared by 31. October, 2009 by filling out the participation form on the project website.
10. The prizewinners will be selected by an independent jury.
11. Three main prizes will be awarded: 1st prize: 1.000 Euro, 2nd prize: 500 Euro, 3rd prize: 300 Euro.
12. The three winning artworks will become the property of the competition organizers.
13. Selected entries will be exhibited. In addition, a competition catalog will be produced. Each artist whose works are exhibited or presented in the catalog will receive a copy of the catalog free of charge.
14. Originals will only be sent back if indicated by the artist. In this case, enclose an envelope and sufficient postage to return your submission.
15. Participants in the competition grant permission for the use of the proposed artworks in the competition organizer’s own publications, and for publications related to the competition.
16. By submitting artworks for this competition, the participant agrees to the competition terms and conditions. The artist explicitly agrees that by taking part in this competition, the artist grants his or her permission for the submitted artwork to be exhibited and to be published in the competition catalog.
17. The participant agrees to make no legal claims against the competition organizers.

International competition for cartoon and comic strip “Climate change!?” Ruse, Bulgaria 2009

Concept: The objective of the competition is to show creative view toward climate change via interpretation of professionals and amateur cartoonists from all over the world. Topics could be chosen among objectives accepted by EU for decreasing negative impact of human activities. Such could be: encouraging usage of renewable energy (sun, wind, geothermal energy, energy from tides and ebbs); CO2 trade emission schemes; improvement of energy efficiency and activities of each individual to decrease used energy (CO2 footprint).

O 20º Amadora BD 2009 - Festival Internacional de Banda Desenhada abre as suas portas de 23 de Outubro a 08 de Novembro, mas convida desde já toda a comunidade bedéfila e futuros visitantes a participar no evento.
A Câmara Municipal da Amadora convidou o autor Rui Lacas, vencedor do Prémio de “Melhor Álbum Português de Banda Desenhada” do ano passado, para conceber o desenho base da imagem do 20º Amadora BD.
Nesse contexto, foi desenvolvida no sítio da Internet do Festival – http://www.amadorabd.com/ – uma página interactiva que permite a todos criar uma personagem de BD, a partir de elementos gráficos desenhados por Rui Lacas.
Assim, desafiamo-vos a criar uma personagem de banda desenhada original em http://www.amadorabd.com/ – ficando a mesma de imediato visível e identificada nesse site.
Estas personagens podem ainda ser enviadas para os vossos amigos e família, convidando-os a juntarem-se a vós nesta grande prancha de banda desenhada.
As personagens que sejam criadas e incluídas no site até ao próximo dia 13 de Outubro (dez dias antes da inauguração do Festival) poderão ser vistas por todo o público numa grande tela no Fórum Luís de Camões.
Mas todas as personagens criadas até ao final do Festival serão visíveis no site e poderão ser enviadas para os vossos contactos por e-mail. Queremos que todos participem.

esto introduttivo di Sabina Ghinassi.La mostra è all'interno della programmazione di Komikazen Festival internazionale del fumetto di realtà e di Ravenna Mosaico Festival internazionale di Mosaico Contemporaneo.
Opus quotidianum – ripredendo il termine opus tipico di alcune tradizionali tecniche del mosaico - allude all'opera quotidiana di ricerca sul tradimento delle immagini riportate dai media, che ha impegnato Costantini da diversi anni. Le tavole dell’artista sono state poi tradotte in mosaico in una forma contemporanea e pop dallo studio Koko di Ravenna. Tutti i cartoni difatti sono tratti da immagini di "quotidiani" di vario genere, interpretati dalla linea sapiente del disegnatore ravennate.La mostra fa parte inoltre del fitto calendario di Ravenna Mosaico, prima biennale del mosaico della città romagnola, e costituisce un punto di snodo tra nona arte e arte musiva. Un incontro peraltro piuttosto fruttuoso, visto che molte delle opere di artisti che si sono cimentati con questo medium hanno proprio un carattere pop e fumettistico.
D’altro canto lo stesso Costantini si è diplomato all’Istituto D’Arte per il Mosaico Severini di Ravenna, che proprio quest’anno ha celebrato i suoi primi 50 anni.
Con i quattro lavori che Gianluca Costantini presenta a RavennaMosaico ci troviamo di fronte ad un curioso gioco degno di un trickster dell’arte. Chi conosce il suo percorso artistico ama l’inequivocabile talento dell’illustratore, la satira amara e pungente, sempre sintetica, il tratto grafico tagliente ed espressivo, ma, magari, non sa nulla delle trascorse esperienze musive, culminate in una serie di piccole opere-icone in micro mosaico diventate, per gli amanti del genere, oggetto di culto. Ora, diversi anni dopo, Costantini è tornato al mosaico con una verve di grande forza che riannoda le fila con quelle prime icone e le unisce consapevolmente alla sua poetica attuale, al suo gesto, alla sua riconoscibilità stilistica. Può esserci un mosaico che racconta una riflessione critica sul nostro tempo? Un gesto meditativo che rispecchia l’addensarsi di un pensiero, di un’immagine che diventa tarlo, che è scomoda e respingente per la nostra coscienza collettiva, un gesto che riesce a tagliare con mano dolce e crudele al tempo stesso quell’immagine e a riempirla di un senso vero, reale, definitivo? Sicuramente è una scelta scomoda, un po’ fuori dal coro di questi giorni assai narcisistici. Ma di queste scelte Costantini ne fa in continuazione e, quindi, perché non osare un azzardo, in direzione non molto glam, almeno sulla carta? Una direzione che racconta ancora una volta l’attualità e le possibilità infinite del mosaico e lo fa in modo nuovo e sorprendente, pur non perdendo ( ma questo vale anche per la sua attività di disegnatore) l’eleganza. Così sono nati i lavori in mostra: non sono “ le tavole” di Gianluca tradotte in mosaico, ma un mosaico di Costantini, pensato e realizzato in team con i ragazzi, bravissimi, di Koko Mosaico. Lasciandoci alle spalle le polemiche da ordine della beccata sul mosaico eseguito da cartoni e sulla lotta artista-mosaicista esecutore, ormai tanto imbarazzanti quanto arcaiche( qualcuno si è mai posto lo stesso problema davanti ad una delle ceramiche di Giosetta Fioroni realizzate dalla Bottega Gatti di Faenza?), ci troviamo di fronte a qualcosa di innovativo e, perché no, anche di bello, piacevole esteticamente ed armonioso. Nessuna traduzione rigidamente a plàt, ma una curiosa tridimensionalità data da superfici sfalsate che “ raccontano le figure”, come pure le orditure e la scelta dei materiali, gli interventi grafici, la sintesi ed il dettaglio cromatico, materico, di texture, sempre calligrafico, quasi impercettibile, ma in grado di costruire il senso generale. Sono quattro storie diverse: un bambino che fugge da una palla; un soldato che picchia con il manganello un manifestante; un uomo ucciso dal volto insanguinato; una donna sensuale che si offre languidamente a qualcuno. Quattro immagini che diventano exempla della nostra contemporaneità: un bambino che corre con un’espressione attonita ed impaurita, un bambino che può giocare, in tante parti del mondo, con una granata e morire, così, in un attimo in mezzo ad una strada polverosa o in un campo d’ erba; un corpo a terra che può appartenere a qualsiasi vittima innocente di una delle nostre mille barbarie – a noi la scelta -; la brutalità della forza e del sopruso di un grande soldato che minaccia con un enorme manganello un civile e, dulcis in fundo, un languido nudo femminile, in posizione prona, degno delle migliori fantasie maschili in tempi di escort, dominati da un concetto di donna mercificato, patinato, bombardato i botox e filler vari, dai 15 ai 65 anni.
Ma queste sono didascalie in fondo non necessarie per i lavori di Costantini. Per lui, il primo elemento resta sempre l’immagine d’insieme, quasi le tessere ed il gesto servissero da medium per ricomporre, criticamente e lucidamente, come in un grande affresco, il nostro hic et nunc attuale, l’axis mundi di una società che ci sforziamo di ignorare o alla quale siamo ormai tristemente abituati. E per raccontarlo, con un sorriso intriso

At 10.30 at the Libreria Mirada (Via Mazzini, 83) the opening of the exhibition entitled Opus quotidianum by Gianluca Costantini in which some of its works of a political nature were broken down and reconstructed by the Koko Mosaice studio of Ravenna using mosaic techniques.
Opus quotidianum – using the term opus which is typical of some tradition mosaic techniques - alludes to the daily work or research on the betrayal of the images shown by the media, which Costantini has been involved in for a number of years. The artworks of the artist were then translated into mosaic in a contemporary “pop” form by the Koko studio of Ravenna. All the cartoons were in fact taken from images of “dailies” of various types, ably interpreted by the artist from Ravenna.
The exhibition is also part of the full calendar of Ravennamosaico, the first biennial of mosaic art of the city in Romagna and constitutes a junction between the ninth art and mosaic art. A rather fruitful encounter therefore since many of the works by artists that have accepted the challenges of this medium have a “pop” and comic-like character. On the other hand Costantini graduated from the Istituto D’Arte per il Mosaico Severini di Ravenna which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.
Gianluca Costantini, a visual artist and comic illustrator, lives and works in Ravenna. As an illustrator and author of comics, she publishes in numerous magazines and daily newspapers in Italy such as "Il Nuovo Male", "Blue", "Il Manifesto", "Internazionale", and abroad in "Babel" (Greece), "Kuhinja" (Serbia) and "WarWorldIII" (U.S.A.). Since 2002 she has been the director of the Italian comic magazine "inguineMAH!gazine" and edits a number of publications by international graphic novelists. In the early nineties she started to exhibit in many collective exhibitions throughout Europe, in international comics festivals such as Lucca Comics, Stribburger and Angouleme, in artistic events such as the Biennial of Young European and Mediterranean Artists or in private Italian galleries. Some of the latest personal exhibitions include Political Comics (Athens, 2006), Banda desenhada politica (Lisbon, 2006), Sangue in Algeria (Perugia, 2008) and Channeldraw (Belgrade, 2008).
Twenty artworks of Sangue d’Algeria will be on display at Komikazen. This work concerns the Algerian War of liberation from French colonialism which took place from 1954 to ‘62. In just a few images, in which the text of the captions is an integral part of the drawing itself, Costantini ably demonstrates her desire to show all the aspects of the war without presuming to create a historical document but inciting the reader to interpret history differently, to become aware of the events covered up by the French and the Algerians themselves. The exhibition was produced by the Miomao Gallery of Perugia and was on display at the Salon du Dessin Contemporain di Parigi in March 2009.

Nessuna traduzione rigidamente a plàt, ma una curiosa tridimensionalità data da superfici sfalsate che “ raccontano le figure”, come pure le orditure e la scelta dei materiali, gli interventi grafici, la sintesi ed il dettaglio cromatico, materico, di texture, sempre calligrafico, quasi impercettibile, ma in grado di costruire il senso generale. Sono quattro storie diverse: un bambino che fugge da una palla; un soldato che picchia con il manganello un manifestante; un uomo ucciso dal volto insanguinato; una donna sensuale che si offre languidamente a qualcuno. Quattro immagini che diventano exempla della nostra contemporaneità: un bambino che corre con un’espressione attonita ed impaurita, un bambino che può giocare, in tante parti del mondo, con una granata e morire, così, in un attimo in mezzo ad una strada polverosa o in un campo d’ erba; un corpo a terra che può appartenere a qualsiasi vittima innocente di una delle nostre mille barbarie – a noi la scelta -; la brutalità della forza e del sopruso di un grande soldato che minaccia con un enorme manganello un civile e, dulcis in fundo, un languido nudo femminile, in posizione prona, degno delle migliori fantasie maschili in tempi di escort, dominati da un concetto di donna mercificato, patinato, bombardato i botox e filler vari, dai 15 ai 65 anni.Ma queste sono didascalie in fondo non necessarie per i lavori di Costantini. Per lui, il primo elemento resta sempre l’immagine d’insieme, quasi le tessere ed il gesto servissero da medium per ricomporre, criticamente e lucidamente, come in un grande affresco, il nostro hic et nunc attuale, l’axis mundi di una società che ci sforziamo di ignorare o alla quale siamo ormai tristemente abituati. exposición Antonio Mingote 90 años - Museo de la Ciudad de Madrid hasta el 29 de noviembre de 2009
El Museo de la Ciudad (Calle Príncipe de Vergara 140) acoge la exposición Antonio Mingote 90 años, coincidiendo con el nonagésimo aniversario del célebre humorista gráfico. La muestra está organizada por la Academia del Humor, la Generalitat Valenciana, a través de la Biblioteca Valenciana, y el Ayuntamiento de Madrid.
Antonio Mingote Barrachina (Sitges, Barcelona, 1919) cumple 90 años. Con motivo de esta celebración sus amigos rinden homenaje al ilustrador, grafista, escritor, cartelista, guionista y académico; decano de los humoristas y una de las piezas claves del humor nacional del siglo XX que todavía sigue en activo.La exposición ‘Mingote. 90 años' agrupa viñetas y caricaturas realizadas por cerca de medio centenar de dibujantes españoles, entre los que se encuentran Máximo, Gallego & Rey, Peridis, Idígoras & Pachi, Esteban, Ricardo, Madrigal, Almarza, Munoa, Kalikatres, Datíle, Eduardo, X. Marín, Edu, Mozo, Ramón y Alfredo.Igualmente, figuran dibujos de Harca, Quique, Manolo, Marrugat, José Julio, Rafael Flórez, Ubaldo, Corella, Angelines, Ferreira, Carlos, Vizcarra, Enrique, Carbó, Orcajo, Ché, Lamber, Nerja, J. Aldeguer, Sebas, Sex, Kap y el Keto.
La exposición, que ya pudo verse en Valencia de febrero a junio y que tuvo gran éxito de público, recoge 44 viñetas, una proyección en vídeo y una selección de cuadros y libros realizados por Mingote.

Con este cartel de nuestro compañero Kap comienza en Lleida Humoralia 2009.
En esta edición Marçal toma el relevo de Ermengol después de 14 al frente de uno de los más importantes eventos del humor gráfico en nuestro país.Las actividades tendrán lugar hasta el 17 de octubre próximo en Lleida y, entre otras cosas, se podrán ver cinco exposiciones:

International Cartoon Biennial of Earthquake & Strengthening
Khaneh Omran Engineering Educational Institute proudly announces the International Cartoon Biennial of Earthquake and Strengthening to be held in Mashhad, Iran on December 12-16, 2009, a memorial to Bam Earthquake Disaster.
The Cartoon Biennial will carry on the successful tradition of the previous seminars held at Khaneh Omran Institute. The aim of this biennial is to promote the culture of earthquake strengthening of constructions and to initiate a move toward public educational programs.
Hence, the International Cartoon Biennial organizing committee invites cartoonists from all over the world to participate in this contest.

Regulations:
1- The contest is open to all cartoonists.

4- The works should have been awarded in no other previous cartoon contests or festivals.
5- It is essential for the participants to send their personal information (including first name, last name, postal address, phone number, e-mail, photo, a short biography) with their work(s).
6- All the cartoonists whom their cartoons are displayed in the exhibition will receive a free copy of biennial catalogue.
7- The digital file of the artwork should be in JPG format, in 1200 pixel size (length or width) and with 150 dpi resolution.
8- The file(s) should be sent to cartoon@khanehomran.com or khaneh.omran@yahoo.com
9- The choice of technique is free.
10- The organizers hold all the rights to publish the cartoons submitted to the contest and use them in any form.

Born in April 14, 1948 in Giurgiu, lives and works in Ploiesti. The School of Fine Arts and Technical College of Architecture.
He started drawing in 1973 in URZICA-Humour Magazine.
He published over 4000 cartoons in magazines and newspapers in Romania and other countries. He illustrated 7 humour books. Since 1991 he is a free lancer and worked for : OPINIA PUBLICA, ZIARUL FINANCIAR, SOCUL COTIDIAN, CUGET LIBER, JURNALUL DE PRAHOVA, GAZETA PRAHOVEI, PRAHOVA, MONITORUL and VIATA PRAHOVEI daily newspapers, PLAI CU BOI Magazine and REBUS BIS Magazine.
Since 2007 he is cartoonist-editorialist at TELEGRAFUL DE PRAHOVA daily newspaper.
Cartoonist of the Year 2002 in Romania.
Since 1993 at ECHINOX publishing house, art director.

Comemoração do Centenário de Nascimento de Adolfo Simões Müller
No âmbito das actividades de promoção da leitura, visando a prática da leitura e dos hábitos culturais como forma positiva de entretenimento e lazer, a Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, decidiu homenagear Adolfo Simões Müller e comemorar o Centenário do seu nascimento. Foi organizado um encontro para estimular o conhecimento e a divulgação da sua obra, elegendo a biblioteca como espaço de convívio e de troca de ideias, em que serão abordadas as várias facetas do escritor no Livro Infantil, na BD, na Rádio e na Imprensa; uma exposição bibliográfica e iconográfica com destaque especial para a divulgação da documentação em formato digital que integra elementos da exposição realizada, acessível Fora de Portas e que permitirá revisitar em qualquer altura a memória do autor. Assim, no dia 9 de Outubro 2009, a Câmara Municipal de Lisboa através da Divisão de Gestão de Bibliotecas organiza o Encontro "O Mistério da Palavra" no Auditório da Biblioteca Municipal Orlando Ribeiro.
Melaito convoca Salon de Humorismo St. Clara 2009 (Cuba)
La publicación humorística Melaíto y la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba en Villa Clara (UNEAC), convocan al IX Salón de Humorismo «Santa Clara 2009», con carácter internacional.
Bases:
Los temas a concursar serán libre y erótico. Las dimensiones de las obras pueden llegar hasta 25 x 35 cm en tamaño máximo, en cualquier técnica y soporte ,incluidos copias impresas de trabajos digitales, los de tercera dimensión no rebasarán los 50 x 50 cm en cualquiera de sus lados.
Cada autor puede enviar un máximo de 5 obras por categoría.
Las obras deben ser enviadas por correo postal y se recibirán hasta el 30 de noviembre del 2009 en:
