Unity Through Culture

The Goethe-Institute (Germany's cultural institution that operates worldwide) recently interviewed ECF director Gottfried Wagner on Unity through Culture. The interview is now available online on their website in English and German.

The German political-cultural magazine Kulturpolitische Mitteilungen published an article about how the ECF incorporates themes like youth, media and popular culture to tackle social and political issues such as diversity and equality.

Culture in EU external relations

Culture will have a bigger and more consistent part in the external relations of the European Union. This was one of the outcomes of the meeting of Ministers of Education, Youth and Culture of the European Union in Brussels on 20th November 2008. Member States were urged by the council to promote cultural cooperation with third countries, and it also calls for policies, and consistent approaches, for giving culture a more prominent place within EU policies and programs.

The research of the 2006 Cultural Policy Research Award (CPRA) winner is now available for download

The EFC's supported research`Live classical music organizations in Europe´ through the CPRA is now officially published. This research paper on international comparison of funding trends, governance mechanisms and organizational structures in classical music organizations, written by Marcello M Mariani, was the winner of the CPRA edition 2006.

Make sure that you don't miss the 2nd annual StrangerAward ceremony that will be hosted on the 17th of October in Amsterdam's Studio K.
