Quick facts: This power station is on the Irtysh river just upstream of the town of Serebryansk. The plant, operated under long-term concession, is integrated into the national electricity system.  Annual output of about 2.5 TWh covers 100% of Kazzinc's electricity requirements outside the Tekeli works, which has its own power plants.

Quick facts: After 60 years, the Tekeli lead and zinc mine was closed in 2003. The local power plants, a 24-MW CHP plant and this small hydroelectric station, cover the full electricity and heat requirements of the Tekeli concentrator and other Kazzinc-owned production facilities in town, with the balance sold to the municipalities of Tekeli and Taldy-Kurgan

Quick facts: The Mingechevir earth dam created a 605kmē reservoir 70km long. Two irrigation canals originate from the reservoir, the 172km Upper Qarabag Channel and the 123km Upper Sirvan Channel which in combination irrigate some 1mn ha of land in Mil, Mugan and Sirvan. This was the one of the largest construction projects in the immediate post-War period in the Soviet Union with about 20,000 workers, including about 10,000 German POWs. The T/G sets have all been overhauled and/or replaced.
