Tripoli (Libya) Sept01, 2009 (SPS) the Libyan leader and president of AU, Muammar Kaddafi, said Monday in Tripoli that the only possible solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, "pass through a referendum of self-determination for the Saharawi people".
Mr. Kaddafi, who chaired the special session of the AU on Conflicts in Africa, has hammered that "the only possible solution to the question of Western Sahara, passes through a referendum under UN auspices, to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination ".
The Libyan leader Muamar Kaddafi who was commented on speech of the President , Mohamed Abdelaziz, before the heads of African states and government in Tripoli, affirmed that the Saharawi question “can only solved through the choice of the Saharawi people by enabling it to exercise its inalienable right to self-determination through the referendum under the international supervision.
President of Republic Mohamed Abdelaziz has reiterated in a closed meeting of Tripoli Summit the good will of the Sahrawi party to fully cooperate with the United Nations and African Union to reach a just and lasting solution enabling the Sahrawi people to exercise its right to self-determination through free and democratic referendum.
