Portugal-Brazil Videoconference to Prepare Cooperation Programmes
A videoconference with several Brazilian institutions was held at the Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC) on 17th March 2009 for initial discussions on preparing potential cooperation programmes in science, technology, innovation and information society fields.
The videoconference was held between the President of the Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC), Luis Magalhães, representing Portugal, and representing Brazil, the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Luiz António Elias, and the President of FINEP– Study and Project Funding, Luis Manuel Fernandes.
The following Portuguese institutions took part in the video conference, represented by their presidents: Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC), FCCN – Foundation for National Scientific Computation and AdI – Innovation Agency, SA. The Brazilian institutions that took part were MCT - Ministry of Science & Technology, FINEP– Study and Project Funding, IBICT – Brazilian Science and Technology Information Institute, RNP – National Education and Research Network, CBPF – Brazilian Physical Research Centre, LNLS – National Syncotron Light Laboratory, LNCC – National Scientific Computation Laboratory, IUPERJ – Rio de Janeiro University Research Institute, CBAN – Brazilian-Argentinean Nanotechnology Centre, and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs - Educational Affairs Division.
