Ceremony
The Fernando Gil Prize award ceremony took place on March 20 at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. During the ceremony, Paulo Tunhas led a recollection of the philosopher Fernando Gil, and Hasok Chang received the award, followed by an acceptance lecture with the title “History and Philosophy of Science in the service of Scientific Pluralism”.
On the same morning, Hasok Chang addressed the topic “Scientific Realism in the context of chemistry” in a workshop on Scientific Realism. The programme included sessions by Henrique Leitão and Fernando Barriga, moderated by several members of the award committee.
To mark the occasion, Hasok Chang also gave a lecture entitled "Bringing History and Philosophy of Science Back Together", on March 21st, at the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa.
