Concept and development
This website was developed and conceived at Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) with the purpose of supporting awareness of the Fernando Gil International Prize promoted by the Portuguese Ministry of Education and Science in collaboration with FCT and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (FCG).
Technical information
In the development of this website web standards were used, namely HTML5 for markup and CSS 2.1/3 for the presentation layer, as promoted by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) with the goal of creating a pleasant and functional user experience with the majority of current web browsers. Finally, we also tried to foster accessibility in compliance with the Web Content Acessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Portuguese legislation Ministers Council resolution 155/2007.
We recommend that you use an updated browser. Older browsers, in particular Internet Explorer 6, aren´t supported by FCT IT services.
