Municipality Plans for the Integration of Immigrants

Given the importance of the integration of immigrants at the local level - in order to promote proximity policies, to improve cooperation between different entities and performance levels – the Municipality Plans for the Integration of Immigrants are being developed.

Discrimination

In the current school year, in schools, the campaign "KidFun – ​​Education for Values" is taking place; which aims to support the school and the family in the education of children, at the level of Self Knowledge, motivating them to the discovery and deepening of core values of conduct and life in society.

We launched the campaign "Find out your color," which seeks to raise public awareness to the problem of racial discrimination and to promote the knowledge of the Commission for Equality and Combating Racial Discrimination as the competent body for the enforcement of legislation on discrimination based on skin color, ethnicity or nationality.

Mentors

We launched the Mentoring Program for Immigrants, which allows the promotion of experiences’ exchange, mutual help and support between Portuguese citizens and immigrants, through volunteering, allowing mutual understanding and resolving difficulties, concerns and challenges of everyday lives
