The High Commission for Migration (ACM) has a Technical Support Office for Immigrant Associations (GATAI), which is prepared to help immigrant associations in their efforts, in their training and promotion as well as monitoring of aid financial provided by ACM.
Main objectives of GATAI - Technical Support Office for Immigrant Associations:
- Support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the initiatives of immigrant associations;
- Technical collaboration, evaluation and monitoring of financial support provided by ACM to the initiatives of immigrant associations;
- Workshops for immigrant associations by training their leaders and building tools facilitating the development of initiatives for the reception and integration of immigrants and their descendants living in Portugal;
- Immigrant associations’ promotion by raising awareness of immigrants and their descendants to the importance of their participation in organized structures of civil society, and public and private entities for the relevance of immigrant associations in the integration of immigrants and their descendants.
