Participants are advised to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. The University of Lisbon, where Deleuze Studies Conference will be held, is very close both to the airport and the city centre. Fábrica do Braço de Prata, where Deleuze Studies Camp will take place, is half way between Santa Apolónia and Oriente Train Stations (for more details, please check the travel section bellow).
When you book your hotel, choose locations close to the city centre, and opt for staying in areas or near sights such as: Rossio, Marquês de Pombal, Chiado, Restauradores, Jardim Zoologico (the Zoo), Praca d' Espanha, Gulbenkian, Campo Pequeno. All are located at maximally 20 minutes away from the university.
Avoid Cascais, Costa da Caparica, Ericeira, Estoril, Sesimbra and Sintra. These are regions that are part of great Lisbon, and require 1 to 2 hours of travel (from university or the center). Inside the city, avoid places such as Pavilhão Atlântico, Oceanarium, Belem, Carcavelos, because traffic can get tight, and so these regions are at least 30 minutes away from university. All are beautiful sites for sightseeing though.
The organizational team is already working on a list of nice and cheap accommodation which will be available soon.
Concerning accommodation, there is a large community of couchsurfers in Lisbon (www.couchsurfing.org). If, closer to the Camp and/or Conference, you are still not able to find lowcost accommodation, please send us an e-mail with the subject "Lowcost Accommodation" so we can try to find you a place to stay. We decided to create a specific email account for the solidarity accommodation: deleuze.accommodation@gmail.com

Also, all of these stations have direct bus or underground connections to the city centre.
