To grant a temporary residence permit to perform an independent professional activity, the applicant must meet the following special conditions, besides the general conditions already mentioned.
- Has constituted a society in accordance to the law or has declared the beginning of an activity to the tax administration and social security as a single person or made a rendering services contract to practice a liberal profession;
- Be able to practice an independent professional activity;
- Has means of subsistence;
- Is registered in the social security;
- When demanded, present a declaration of the respective professional body, confirming that he fulfils the respective requirements of inscription.
Exceptionally, upon proposal of the SEF National Director or by initiative of the member of the Government responsible for the area of Internal Administration may be dismissed the possession of a valid visa of residence, providing that the legality of the entrance and permanence in Portugal is confirmed.
Yes, provided that:
- Has a work contract;
- Has had a work relation proved by a union or association represented in the Advisory Council to the Immigration Matters (COCAI);
- Is registered and has he situation in order with the social security.
In this case, the title of residence is replaced.
