ERASMUS +
Erasmus + is the new EU program for education, training, youth and sport that began on January 1, 2014 and replaced the European Commission funding programs in the areas of education, training, youth and sport. The Erasmus + program gives opportunity to more than 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and perform volunteer abroad. Furthermore, Erasmus + supports international partnerships within institutions and organizations to adopt cooperation and create a bridge between the worlds of education and work to end the differences in skills that we see in Europe.

The inscription on the host institution is through the Mobility Office and International Cooperation ( GMCI ) .
Students who wish to attend mobility, either in the 1st or 2nd half shall fill, in conjunction with the course coordinator , the Learning Agreement . Once the student confirm their intention to participate in the mobility program he will receive a email from GMCI with the list of documents to deliver and procedures to be performed to formalize the process.
Each partner periods are variable , so the host institution site consultation is key.
The Learning Agreement (LA ) , or Study Plan is a document that identifies the Curricular Units ( CUs ) that the student intends to carry out the foreign institution and which have equivalence after return of mobility. The model is available online.
The LA must be completed in conjunction with the course coordinator and subsequently signed by both parties and delivered in GMCI . If students want to change the initial LA must do so by following the model itself , available online. These changes should be made with the knowledge of the coordinator within 30 days of the effective start of classes at the host institution .

All students who travel abroad should apply for the European Health Insurance Card, Social Security, the Citizen’s Shop or the Internet.
This card is free and can be illegal for medical assistance in case of accident or sudden illness. You can get more information here. It is recommended, but not required, that students acquire travel insurance to complement the mentioned document if they have need for continued medical care.
The student must sign a contract that allows you to take advantage of the Erasmus + student status, receive or not Exchange. This document is not available before students leave, it should be signed after their return to the date it was issued the transfer of funds (when applicable).
In return mobility shalt present the Letter of Confirmation, document the start and end date of mobility should be signed and stamped by the International Office of the host institution.
Upon receipt of the Transcript of Records by GMCI , it sends the document to the respective School , accompanied by a copy of LA , or possibly the document with changes to the Learning Agreement . The school issues a statement with the final grades obtained by equivalence that sends to the GMCI .
Any complaints in assigning final grades , when they concern the transposition of notes between the two countries , should be addressed to the academic services of the respective school. If the student directly receive the Transcript of Records should always hand it in GMCI . If the final certificate with grades , Transcript of Records , is delivered directly to the student when you return , you must hand it in GMCI which will forward it to the respective school.
The Student Erasmus Final Report is required, but merely statistical and will be made available online by the National Agency directly to the student.
The Transcript of Records is a document with a detailed history of the courses carried out by the student in the foreign institution during the period of mobility.
Being an Erasmus + student does not necessarily enjoy a mobility grant . However , if the student is selected an ERASMUS mobility grant may be granted which will cover the additional costs resulting from the difference in cost of living between the country of origin and country of destination .
The value of the scholarships varies with the destination country, function and the number of months of stay. The treatment of all practical issues such as travel and accommodation , it is the responsibility of the student.
The Erasmus + student mobility funding is allocated by the European Commission and the National Agency.
GMCI has 30 days to make the payment of the Erasmus grants , after signing the contract; however , payment of Handbags is dependent on the transfer of funds from the National Agency .
An initial transfer of 80 % will be made and , at the end of mobility against the delivery of the latest documents , Letter of Confirmation and Student Report, the payment of the remaining 20 % will be made .
The number of scholarships to be awarded is not determined from the outset, as there year funding variations to year, and at least two bags may be accomplished by each course IPLeiria . However , during the financial year this may lead to redistribution of funds that are channeled to the Erasmus + scholarship and so many students may end up receiving scholarship retrospectively . In situations of redistribution of funds , it issued an addendum to the Erasmus contract with the respective amount, which must be signed by the student and the Institutional Coordinator.

The beneficiary Student Social Action will receive an additional scholarship that will be determined by Social Services ( SAS ) , taking into account the per capita household income .
It is up to GMCI to reach the SAS students listing on mobility to be done to ascertain the extra support , so that the student will not have to make any application to that bag.
The disabled students also have additional support , dependent on the degree of disability.
Yes, it is possible. To this end, the student must coordinate with the host institution and the institution of origin so that both accept the extension .
The student must also make changes to your Learning Agreement and comply with the application deadlines of the host institution . The GMCI should be informed of the intention to extend mobility.
It is expected to award scholarships to students who choose to extend the period of mobility. However , if the IPLeiria receive additional funds , or there is mobility program of withdrawal by a student, the funds will be distributed to students not receiving purse.
Yes, provided it complies with the requirements. Students who have overdue fees or any irregular situation with IPLeiria can not be selected to attend the Erasmus as well as students at the time of mobility , still are in the 1st year of the degree . Furthermore , there is no guarantee that the student will receive Erasmus + exchange.
During the stay at the host institution , the student should strive to develop their education , be assiduous in taught classes and seminars , be sufficiently motivated and have knowledge of the languages required for mobility , adopting a behavior that honors the IPLeiria .
Students should be aware that they must keep in touch with GMCI when they have questions about any procedure and contact the Erasmus + Coordinator in relation to the academic part of their mobility. There GMCI extensions at each school , to solve specific problems , and ESTM and ESAD.CR , by distance, finally given a more prominent role in organizing all documentation and support to students.
The student should have at least one curricular unit complete .
The student may conduct courses for several years , various courses (if authorized by the coordinator ) and can still perform extracurricular which should be indicated in your Diploma Supplement .
Erasmus coordinators should suggest new partnerships with institutions in other EU countries, following disclosures made by GMCI or on its own initiative. It may also, in cases deemed necessary, terminate existing agreements.
The new partnerships are the responsibility of the Erasmus coordinators together with the head of Internationalization in the respective school, and the only existing exception is, of course, the request for formalization be requested by the Director of Schools or by the Presidency of IPLeiria.
For the respective formalization, it is necessary information by e-mail to GMCI with the name of the institution, intended area of study, number of exchanges of students and teachers and contact person (if any such information). It is convenient to the Erasmus Coordinator establish an early contact with his counterpart in the future partner, so there is an exchange of study plans to determine compatibility. Once formalized the new bilateral agreement, it will be placed information on IPLeiria site. Erasmus coordinators should help the outgoing students in the choice of protected areas to achieve the target institution and to sign the Study Programs – Learning Agreement.
They should also advise students about possible changes to the curriculum. Erasmus Coordinators are also responsible for signing the Study Programs – Learning Agreement, the outgoing students when sent by GMCI and should send them by internal mail after signature, or when delivered by hand by the students themselves. They should also inform students about other deemed relevant details.

Refer to the schools processes involving inquiry with a view to opening disciplinary proceedings outgoing students.
INFINITY – International Fellowship IN transdisciplinarITY
The INIFINTY project is coordinated by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon. Its partner countries in Eastern Europe Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova , Armenia , Azerbaijan and Georgia. The European Union are also part of our partnership Estonia, the Czech Republic and Slovenia .
The scholarships are divided into 5 categories and have the following monthly amounts :
BE MUNDUS is an Erasmus Mundus project that provides scholarships to students, researchers and European and Brazilian officials to have a period of mobility, or the total travel time in some of the best universities in Europe and Brazil . administrators can also apply . The scholarship includes allowance , travel , insurance and fees .
The project aims to develop cooperation based on the mobility of three Palestinian institutions , two Lebanese , one Syrian and two from Jordan. Moreover, the protocol also reaches nine European institutions. The cooperation network supports students of all education levels (bachelor, master , doctoral and post -doctoral ) , academics and administrative staff and researchers.
In addition to the initial objectives can be also mentioned the following :
Establish a network of mobility between Europe – Palestine – Lebanon – Syria – Jordan through an institutional basis;
Supporting a group of 150 young people so that they can study and train in specific areas ;
Increase the capacity of partner institutes conduct research oriented to the community ;
Increase the competence of staff for better management of universities;
Develop an academic and sustainable research network for future cooperation between partner projects ;
Adopt new technologies for academic purposes and management ;
To achieve these objectives, the project provides 150 mobilities , divided into two groups .
The Vasco da Gama program is a program created by Coordeador Council of Polytechnic Institutes and its main objective to promote and enhance the mobility of students between national institutes polytechnics (Read Program Regulation).
Students participating in the program will undertake a period of mobility in any Polytechnic Institute National studies or internships for a period of three months to one year.
The deadline for applications is renewed annually applications being accepted until May 30 for mobilities carried out the following school year.
Applicants must complete and submit an Application Form and Studies Program in GMCI , duly signed by the entities indicated in the latter document ( course coordinator and management schools). The GMCI in turn transmit the documents to the Polytechnic partner for mobility confirmation.
Note: the fact that an institution integrate the Vasco da Gama program does not oblige to receive students from other institutions . Acceptance is always on time , checked case by case basis and depends on the disponibiliade the receiving institution. Because there is no money channeled to the program there is no financial support beyond that of the student already receiving through the SAS .
EXCHANGE With Brasil
As the internationalization of the strategic objectives of IPLeiria in recent years has sought to enhance the cooperation with several higher education institutions in Brazil , not only for reasons related to the existing linguistic affinities but also because Brazil is now a countries with economies in most important development in the international arena .
Thus, the IPLeiria currently offers 31 possibilities for higher education institutions to their students to participate in an exchange program with Brazil.
It may consist of a period of study or work experience ( with the prior approval of the Mobility Coordinator of the home school and the acceptance of destination Institution ) ;
Curricular Units history ever held in the IPLeiria ;
Photocopy of the Identity Card / Citizen Card ;
Photocopy of passport .
2nd Phase (after confirmation of acceptance by the host institution )
Acceptance Letter – issued by the host institution proving that the / the student has been accepted and which will serve to issuing the visa (to be requested by IPLeiria ) ;
Personal accident insurance and repatriation ;
Student visa to be obtained from the Consulate of Brazil in Lisbon or Porto ( according to area of residence, as stated in the student identification ) ;
Registration statement on IPLeiria .
3rd Phase ( upon return )
Transcript of Records – issued by the host institution with the grades obtained and which will serve to formalize the academic recognition in IPLeiria ;
Final report of mobility.
All expenses will be borne by the student, including travel, accommodation and food (except mobility for UNIVATES, which grants a number of scholarships to be defined and include the cost of food and accommodation in the institution ).
The ranking and selection of applications will be carried out according to the criteria set by each school.
The student will, however, exempt from fees in target higher education institution (although it is necessary to continue to ensure the payment of fees in IPLeiria).
Students may participate in mobility should: i) at the time of mobility attend at least 2 years; ii) do not have fees overdue; iii) having no irregular situation with IPLeiria.
Students who, for any reason, after the mobility start desist from the conduct can not take advantage of mobility to any other international program, unless the reason is for external causes to the student.

This card must be presented at the social security institution of the place of stay, in order to verify the participant’s membership of the social security scheme in Portugal , allowing thus rely on the right to health care in the Member State in which it temporarily in . Only health care practiced by the public sector are included in this scheme and each country has its own rules on public health care. If you suffer from chronic illness or a specific health situation should make a health insurance as few EU countries pay the full medical treatment expenses .
