CICS.NOVA develops scientific research in the area of the identity reconstruction, on a personal, professional, social and/or cultural perspective. With several collaborations with other regional, national and international institutions, the centre aims to develop innovative projects and create products related to areas as diverse as heritage tourism, social work, social education, multiculturalism, communication and information.

Implement research and development activities in education, to achieve the following objectives: a) to produce and increase knowledge of educational reality; b) develop focused activities to improve the quality of education and training; c) implement cooperation with the community.

The mission of CIPSE is the development of research activities and provision of services in the scope of Educational Politics and Systems, namely in what refers to the domains of lifelong learning and training, skills validation, human rights and citizenship, inclusion, human development and sustainability.

iACT’s main mission is to develop scientific and interdisciplinary research in the field of Communication Sciences, by taking on fundamental, applied and experimental approaches. Simultaneously, it aims to develop methodologies, techniques and products and to offer training and services to the community, while intervening in society itself (improving conditions and attitudes). iACT further aims to develop the skills of people with special needs.

The mission of the globADVANTAGE is to conduct and leverage scientific research, collaborate in providing superior education, support students and assist businesses and policy makers on issues of importance to international trade, international investment, international strategy and global competitiveness.

CIGS’s aim is to contribute to the creation and dissemination of knowledge in Management and Sustainability areas, respecting the plurality of knowledge. The center is focused on improving the competitiveness of organizations in a triple bottom line, integrating the social, economic and environmental pillars.

CITUR’s aim is to promote research, science communication, continuing education and the provision of services in the various fields of tourism and related areas.

Portugal has been experiencing constant legislative changes, which have been influencing the lives of companies, institutions and citizens. Focusing on these purposes, the CIEJ integrates: a)Multidisciplinary I&D projects, both national and international, vacationed for the juridical and social analysis of Leiria region; b) Local community service projects, by providing legal advice and creating support structures, such as an arbitration centre or publishing case studies in the website; c) Specialization courses and post-grad courses, both short and annual, related to the specific needs of the region (Tax Law, Environmental Law, among others).

The aim of LIDA / ESAD.CR is the advancement of transdisciplinar artistic, scientific and technological research as well as experimental development and knowledge transfer in the fields of art, design and cultural studies.

CIIC has as its mission to train high level researchers in Informatics and Communications, in cooperation with national and international entities of recognized quality, in order to promote the transfer of technology from within the school to the industry, also enabling the creation of spin-off companies from the Center and the provinding of techno-scientific consulting services to public and private entities.

CDRSP aims to contribute to the advanced of science and technology leading to more suitable, effective and efficient products, materials and processes, this way generating added value for the industry, and promoting awareness in society of the role and importance of rapid and sustainable product development. To fulfill this mission, the centre carries out scientific and technological research, providing consulting, training and research services in the strategic areas of rapid and sustainable product development.

ADAI has been supporting fundamental and applied research in the domain of industrial aerodynamics and other correlated areas. Particular attention is paid to the specific problems of the Portuguese Industry in order to achieve higher levels of modernisation and competitivity.

To develop new materials, products and chemical technologies for sustainability, and simultaneously to promote advanced training in these areas. The LCM research effort is mainly focused in two scientific fields of major significance: Carbon Materials and Catalysis.

The objective of the LSRE is the development of new methodologies, concepts, ideas and experimental techniques to understand, design, operate and optimize Separation and Reaction Processes involved in Process and Product Engineering.

The mission is to create and disseminate scientific knowledge in the field of telecommunications. The institute is actively involved in fundamental and applied research in telecommunications both at national and international level. Simultaneously it is committed to foster higher education and training, by hosting and tutoring graduate and postgraduate students.

INESC aims at contributing to the progress of scientific and technical knowledge, integrating competences in several Engineering Sciences and in Management Science/Operations Research within a systems engineering approach, creatively combining theory and methodology, technical issues and human factors to tackle complex problems.

MARE-IPLeiria’s main purpose is to create, develop and apply knowledge related to marine resources in order to promote innovation in their use and to contribute to the development of new marine products.

CIMH crucial purposes are to develop projects, carry out studies, and enhance scientific knowledge in the different broads related to Sports and Well-Being. Thus, CIMH defines as main fields of action: i) Sports Training; ii) Physical Activity and Health; iii) Motor Learning and Control; and iv) Sports Pedagogy.

UIS is deeply committed in developing interdisciplinary scientific research studies and activities on health sciences, in order to formulate strategies of promoting a better and improved health among the populations.

The CIEQV focuses its research in the following areas: a) food production (food security and sustainable agriculture), b) physical activity as a condition for the citizens life quality,  c) education in its various aspects, combined with the creation and use of innovative and applied technology, and d) the working people life quality. In this way the research promoted by CIEQV will have a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary knowledge approach in the mentioned areas in order to enhance innovation and scientific excellence.
