World Conference on Research Integrity
- 14/09/2007As part of the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union, the 1st World Conference on Research Integrity – Promoting Responsible Research, organised by the European Science Foundation (ESF) and the US Office of Research Integrity (ORI) of the Department of Health and Human Services, USA, will be held from 16th to 19th September 2007 in Lisbon. In Portugal, the organisation enjoys the support of the Ministry for Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES), the Science and Technology Foundation (FCT) and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (FCG). The conference programme includes sessions where the following topics, among others, will be discussed: policies and strategies to promote scientific research integrity, scientific culture and training for responsible behaviour, and the role of publishers, financers and research institutions in safeguarding integrity in scientific research.
This is the first world forum bringing together researchers, R&D funding agencies, scientific journal publishers and prominent representatives of the scientific community and science administration to discuss policies and strategies to promote and safeguard ethics and in scientific research.
