eCommerce week

ACEP – Association for eCommerce in Portugal and Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC) are working in partnership to promote the third version of eCommerce Week, an initiative which, from the 4th to the 14th May, aims to kick-start the debate from the North of the country to the South on this subject area. 

eCommerce Week will begin with a seminar entitled – eCommerce:Impacts and Opportunities for the Portuguese Economy – which is being held on 4th May from 10am to 1pm at the Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações. The closing session of the seminar shall take place in the exhibition space designed by Casa do Futuro Inclusiva and will be attended by the Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education. The Practical Guide “Buying on the Internet” will be presented here – this includes the Practical Company Guide (in Portuguese) and the Practical Consumer Guide (in Portuguese).

This year’s eCommerce Week also includes a further four regional initiatives, which will be carried out in different points around the country in collaboration with various ACEP and UMIC partner bodies:

  • 9th May from 9am to 11am: Search Marketing – Efficient online communication workshop organised by APPM – Portuguese Association of Marketing Professionals being held at Hotel Vila Galé Opera in Lisboa;
  • the following seminar will take place on 10th and 11th May from 9am to 5.30pm in the Serviços Sociais das Forças Armadas auditorium in Oeiras, organised by ACEP and OPET – Observatory for Engineering and Technology Perspectives: Human Resources Management, E-Learning and Multimedia Content Development:Information Systems Applications for the Public Administration
  • The seminar “International eCommerce:what regulatory framework?” will be held in the Instituto Politécnico de Beja’s Escola Superior de Educação Auditorium on 11th May at 5pm. This seminar is being organised by ESTIG/Instituto Politécnico de Beja in collaboration with the  LEFIS - Legal Framework for the Information Society Network (Socrates) and the ANDCE - Asociación Andaluza de Comercio Electrónico;
  • The seminar “Development in the Digital Era: Communicating with Citizens, Tourism and eCommerce” will be held on 12th May from 2.30pm until 6pm at the ENERGAIA - Vila Nova de Gaia Auditorium.It is being jointly organised by GAIA Global and ADETURN – Association for the Development of Tourism n the North of Portugal.

Of the other initiatives also within the scope of eCommerce Week in Portugal from 4th to 14th May aiming to breath life into these ten days and transform eCommerce into a daily reality for their target audiences, ACEP is holding a competition for anyone carrying out eProcurement purchases on the sites associated with the 3rd eCommerce Week.
