The 57th meeting of the OECD’s Information, Computers and Communication Policy Committee was held in Paris on 11th to 13th March 2009. The meeting agenda included a review of the access process for various countries to OECD membership, discussion of the economic crisis, the framework for non-governmental stakeholder participation in the ICCP’s work, the midterm report on the innovation strategy, proposals for the Technology Foresight Forum, information on reports regarding economic reform policy and policy coherence and development, a study on setting up partnerships for the Internet economy, reports from the ICCP Working Party on the implementation of the agenda from the OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Future of the Internet Economy (text in Portuguese) held in Seoul in June 2008, and a study on ICT and the environment.
The Portuguese delegation at the meeting was headed by the President of Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC), Luis Magalhães, who is also Vice President of the ICCP Committee and is thus a member of the respective Bureau.
An ICCP Bureau meeting and the United Kingdom-ICCP Workshop on Virtual Worlds for Delivering Public Service and Innovation were held on the afternoon of 11th March.
