Society and Citizenship News Exhibition and Talks on "Journey to the Centre of the Computer" in Abrantes Exhibition and Talks on "Journey to the Centre of the Computer" in Abrantes
- 17/02/2010The evolution, language and components of the computer are the theme of the exhibition "Journey to the Centre of the Computer", open to the public at the Centre for New Technologies, Edifício Pirâmide, Abrantes, from 24 February to 31 March 2010. This has been organized by the Abrantes Town Hall and the Abrantes School of Technology, a branch of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar.
Alongside the exhibition a series of sessions will be held on the 24 February and 3, 10 and 17 March, on the topics “ICT Training and Certification in the Abrantes municipality”, “ICT in education – past, present and future”, “Technologies for the inclusion of people with special needs” and “Internet Safety". The Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC) will give presentations in the last two sessions, entitled “the eXaminator – Computer Application to Help Check Accessibility to the Web Content of UMIC, and the Solidarity Network”, and the “Safer Internet Project: from those at school to the general public”.
