1st Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Fraunhofer-Portugal Program

The Steering Committee of the Fraunhofer - Portugal Program met for the 1st time on 18 April 2007, immediately following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (FhG), Science and Technology Foundation (FCT) and The Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC) which established the start of the Fraunhofer-Portugal Program, under the framework of the Knowledge Networks activities integrated within the Commitment to Science for Portugal’s Future initiative.

The meeting aimed to analyse the general aspects of organizing the work and was held at INESC Porto – The Porto Institute for Systems Engineering and Computers.

Those who participated in the meeting were the President of Science and Technology Foundation (FCT), João Sentieiro, the President of The Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC), Luis Magalhães, Professor Pedro Guedes de Oliveira, Senior Vice President for Planning Research of FhG, Ulrich Buller, Professor Dieter Rombach, Dr. Georg Rosenfeld from the office of the Presidency of FhG, and Professor José Luis Encarnação, also from FhG. Also present was Dr. Torsten Nyncke of FhG.
