- 26/11/2008The half-yearly meeting of the National ICT Research Directors Forum was held on 26th November in Lyon, France. This forum comprises the Directors-General responsible for Information and Communication Technologies in the 27 EU Member States and associate countries under the EU Framework Programme for Research.
Presentations were given and discussions were held on the working groups’ reports on Research Infrastructures and the Internet of the Future, R&D Communication and ICT Innovation, and questions of Trust and Security in information networks and systems.
Portugal is represented at the National ICT Research Directors Forum by the President of the Knowledge Society Agency (UMIC).
The "ICT 2008 Conference and Exhibition" ran concurrently from 25th to 27th November 2009, entitled “I's to the future: invention - innovation – impact”. This conference and exhibition were part of a cycle of events held every two years and are the most important discussion forum for research and public policies in ICT at EU level. This year’s conference focussed on the EU’s ICT priorities for the more than 2 billion Euros available for the 2009-2010 period, the main current trends impacting on strategic research planning, and public research policies to stimulate research and innovation.
