The EU Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (2007-2013)

EU Competitiveness and Innovation  Framework Programme LogoThe EU Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP – Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme) came into force following a Decision of the European Parliament and Council, on 24 October 2006, and covers the period 2007-2013, with a budget of approximately 3.6 billion euros.

The Internet regularly publishes calls for tenders for EIP, calls for tenders for ICT PSP and calls for tender for IEE.

The Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) seeks to contribute towards the EU’s competitiveness and potential for innovation as an advanced knowledge society. It has the following objectives:

  • Promoting the competitiveness of enterprises, especially that of SMEs;
  • Promoting all forms of innovation, including eco-innovation;
  • Hastening sustainable development in a competitive, innovative and inclusive information society;
  • Promoting energy efficiency and new and renewable energy sources in all sectors, including transportation.
