Media Centre

The Media Centre is located in Pavilion 3 and 4 of the Feira Internacional de Lisboa – FiL, in Parque das Nações.

The Media Centre entrance will be subject to some delays. Media are also informed that security personnel will have full authority to examine and test any equipment and to check personal and technical items.

We advise you to arrive in advance and underline that each entrance point will undergo the same control and security procedures.

The Media representatives wishing to install large amounts of heavy material and/or equipment have until 8:00 p.m on 18 November.

After this hour, only portable equipment will be allowed in.

The Media Centre is composed by a common working area based on “first come, first served” and TV and Radio area and includes:

  • 900 Work stations equipped with internet connectors (RJ 45). The Media representatives using their own computers should bring a cable connecting them to the internet;
  • Electric Sockets (220 V with 2 entries). The Media representatives who need an adapter for their equipment should bring it with them;
  • 100 computers;
  • Wi-Fi;
  • 10 ISDN lines (5 in work stations and 5 in booths);
  • ISDN Lines for radio broadcasting are available in Euro ISDN standard;
  • Photocopiers and faxes for shared-use;
  • Printers (LAN connections);
  • 4 sound distribution channels: original language, English, French and Portuguese;
  • Internal Television Circuit (CCTV), for live and recorded broadcasts, information about the program, press conferences schedules and other informations;
  • TV and Radio work editing booths;
  • Stand-up positions;
  • Press conference rooms;
  • Individual lockers;
  • 24- hour cafeteria service.


The organization is not responsible for personal items belonging to the Media.

Press Conferences

The press conference rooms and briefings are located in Pavilion 3.
The Press Conference main Room has a capacity of 450 seats, translation booths, broadcasting via CCTV - signal to allocate upon TV station request to Host broadcaster RTP.
5 rooms with 70 seats – equipped with translation booths, TV lighting and sound systems including connection points for sound recording.
5 rooms with 40 seats – equipped with TV lighting and sound systems including connection points for sound recording.

Access to press conferences is normally open to all accredited Media. However, delegations are entitled to invite the media from their country.

Interviews

Requests for interviews should be directed to the Delegation’s press officers, whose contact details will be available in the Media Centre, or Press Cabinets prior to the Summit.

Requests for Interviews with the NATO Secretary-General should be addressed well in advance to the NATO Spokesman office using the e-mail: press@hq.nato.int.

There are interview corners in Pavilion 3 equipped with furniture, lighting and electric plugs.





POOLS

Especially as space for media is limited, the access of Media credentialed for some Summit Events is designated as pool system.

Pooled events can be covered only by photographers and camera operators.
Pools covering any summit event must start their coverage at the Pool Meeting Point, located at Media Centre, where the Media representatives are required to undergo a new security check. The covering of Summit events outside the FIL building will only be allowed to those traveling in vehicles provided by the Organization.

For security reasons, the schedule for the Pool Meeting Point is rigorously followed.

The pool card must be worn clearly at those events and is only valid when used with media credential.

Loss of a pool card must immediately be reported to the Delegation press officer.

BILATERAL MEETINGS

Media coverage of Bilateral Meetings is determined by delegations and is their responsibility to contact the media.
Media wishing to cover any of these bilateral meetings should contact the Delegations Press Officer.
