Nuno Eduardo da Cruz Simões é licenciado (pré-Bolonha) em Engenharia Civil e Mestre (pré-Bolonha) em Hidráulica, Recursos Hídricos e Ambiente pela Universidade de Coimbra e Doutorado em Engenharia Civil pelo Imperial College London. Recebeu o Prémio CGD / Manuel Pedro Homem para o aluno da Licenciatura em Engenharia Civil da UC com a classificação final mais elevada em 2003 e o prémio internacional “The Poul Harremoës Award for Best Urban Drainage Paper by a Young Author”, organizado pelo comité conjunto de Drenagem Urbana da IWA/IAHR (International Water Association / International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research), na 12.ª Conferência Internacional em Drenagem Urbana (12th ICUD, 2011). Desenvolve investigação em projetos nacionais e internacionais e consultoria com empresas e entidades nacionais no âmbito da hidráulica, hidrologia urbana, cheias e sistemas de abastecimento e de drenagem. É autor de várias publicações em revistas científicas e congressos, nacionais e internacionais. Foi palestrante convidado na Université Paris-Est / ENPC - École des Ponts ParisTech (2011). É fundador e ex-Presidente (2010/2011) do Student Chapter da IAHR da Universidade de Coimbra.
