Vera Lúcia Matias Ferreira, nasceu em Évora em 1985, e é licenciada e mestre em Engenharia do Ambiente pela Universidade do Algarve. Concluiu Doutoramento em Ciências do Mar, da Terra e do Ambiente igualmente na Universidade do Algarve em 2015. É membro do Centro sobre o Espaço e Organizações, da Universidade do Algarve. Publicou 9 artigos em revistas especializadas e 16 trabalhos em actas de eventos. Possui 2 itens de produção técnica. Nas suas actividades profissionais interagiu com 29 colaboradores em co-autorias de trabalhos científicos.
