Main research interest: Geotechnical engineering, ground improvement technologies, soil-cement mixtures; alkaline activated geomaterials Brief CV - Present post: Post-Doc researcher in the Civil Engineering Department of FEUP, since 2013 - Education: Graduate in Civil Engineering (2005) at FEUP (Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal) with a 6 months at École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris) by an exchange (ERASMUS) program, MSc in Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (2008) at Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra, and PhD in Civil Engineering at FEUP (2011). - Industrial collaborations: Collaboration was performed with M.Couto Alves, S.A Construções for the interpretation of CPTu profiles in the new recreation port in Vila Nova de Gaia. - Scientific Guidance: Co-supervision of 2 MSc thesis and participation in 6 juris of MSc and PhD thesis - Projects: Involved in the following concluded FCT projects: PTDC-ECM-099475-2008 named Characterisation and constitutive modelling of cyclic and dynamic behaviour of soil-cement mixtures for application in infrastructures for transportation and POCTI/ECM/61934/2004 named New techniques for support of great excavations in residual soils. Participation in the project ECOSOLO (ref. 38899/2012) financed by the Innovation Agency in collaboration with Mota-Engil Construções, S.A. - Publications: Author of 19 papers published in national and international conferences; 14 in national and international journals with pier preview - Other Scientific Activities: Member of the organization committee of the workshop “Treatment of materials with lime and cement for transport infrastructures”, Porto (2008)
