Marisol B.
Correia is an Assistant Professor in the Information Technologies and Systems scientific area of the School
of Management, Hospitality and Tourism (ESGHT) of the University of Algarve (UAlg) and she is a member-collaborator of the
Centre for Management Studies of IST (CEG-IST) of the University of Lisbon.
She holds a PhD in Electronics and Computer
Engineering from the University of the Algarve, a masters in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the University of Lisbon
and 5-year undergraduate degree in Informatics Engineering from the University of Coimbra.
She is a scientific reviewer
for some international journals and conferences and she participated in funded projects, with special emphasis on "SRM - Smart
Revenue Management" and "FOOTDATA - Integrated Information Management System for Football”, both financed by QREN.<br> She
has presented papers at international conferences and has published scientific papers in several journals.
In the field
of management, since 2016, she is the President of the Technical and Scientific Council of the School of Management, Hospitality
and Tourism of the University of Algarve, from 2015 to 2016 she was the Director of the Information Technologies and Systems
Department of that faculty and she was the Vice Dean of that faculty from 2009 to 2012.
In the field of teaching she is
responsible for the curricular units of Computers for Tourism, Technologies and Information Systems, Information Systems Applied
to Human Resources Management and Decision Support Tools, among others and she had oriented several Master's dissertations.
Her current research interests include Information and Communication Technologies applied to Tourism, Hospitality and Management,
Websites Evaluation, Business Intelligence, Innovation and Evolutionary Computation, among others.
