Silvia Di Marco graduated in Biology at the University of Milan in 2000, with a dissertation in plant physiology. She has a postgraduate certificate in Science Communication by the same university and a MA degree in Design and Management of Online Education by the University of Florence. Between 2001 and 2008 she has been working as a medical journalist and editor for Masson and Elsevier Italy (Milan). Between 2009 and 2010 she was FCT-research fellow for the project “Image in Science and Art”, at the CFCUL. She became FCT-PhD fellow in 2010 and in 2015 she obtained her PhD in History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Lisbon and in Philosophy at the University of Milan (PhD in Association), with a dissertation titled “Towards an Epistemology of Medical Imaging”, under the supervision of Prof. Olga Pombo and Prof. Andrea Pinotti. Currently she is a postdoctoral fellow in the FCT research project “Which biodiversity definition for biodiversity conservation?” (PTDC/IVC-HFC/1817/2014)
