Alemanha, Berlim: Logos Verlag. The current financial and economic crisis has generated perceptions of threat and uncertainty in many countries. These feelings emerged due to increasing difficulties in the management of individual or family budgets and the risk of becoming economically vulnerable. These stressors may contribute negatively to individuals’ psychological health. The present study with 729 Portuguese participants evaluated the association between economic stressors (i.e., economic hardship, financial threat, and expense ratio) and symptoms of psychological distress (i.e., depression, anxiety, and tension/irritability). The obtained results demonstrated that economic hardship and financial threat were significant predictors of distress, anxiety, and depression, whereas expense ratio did not significantly predict these outcome variables. Although the results are generally congruent with the existing literature, the absence of a significant association between expense ratio and distress measures requires further exploration. Additional studies that include longitudinal designs and participants from different social and economic strata are needed.

Introduction: Alterations in executive functioning are frequent in depressed patients, being common theappearance of planning difficulties.Method: This study aimed to compare the performance of a sample of 40 non-psychotic unipolar depressed patients (26 women and 14 men, with a mean age of 44.15 years old [SD = 13.82]) with 40 healthy controls (24 women and 16 men, with a mean age of 42.05 years old [SD = 15.19]) using a computerized version of the Tower of London (TOL) task.Results: Significant differences regarding extra moves and execution time between groups were found, withhealthy controls outperforming depressed patients, who took significantly longer to complete the task. Thevariable age influenced clearly the results, showing a shared variance of 55% for both groups.Conclusions: The results allowed us to identify differences in performance between both groups, therefore this version of the TOL revealed itself as a reliable alternative to assess planning, accessible to all clinicians.

Introduction: Alterations in executive functioning are frequent in depressed subjects, being the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) one of the most utilized instruments to assess it, even though, when individually compared, this test’s items did not show consistency.Method: This study aimed to compare the performance of a group comprising 36 non-psychotic unipolardepressed patients (23 women and 13 men, with a mean age of 44.28 years old [SD = 14.78]) with 36 healthycontrols (22 women and 14 men, with a mean age of 42.22 years old [SD = 15.19]) in a computerized version of WCST.Results: We found significant differences between depressed patients and healthy controls regarding number of categories, perseverative responses, perseverative errors, non-perseverative errors, percentage of conceptual level responses and failure to maintain set, clearly influenced by the variable age, which showed a shared variance between 17% and 33% in depressive patients’ performance and between 16% and 26% in healthy controls’ performance.Conclusions: Results allowed us to identify differences in performance between the two groups, therefore thisversion of the WCST revealed itself a reliable alternative to assess Executive Functions (EFs), accessible to all clinicians.

"Meta-análise dos estudos sobre sono e criatividade.", Amazônica: Revista de Psicopedagogia, Psicologia Escolar e Educação, 7: 325 - 342. O sono tem sido um tema largamente estudado quer pela psicologia, quer pela medicina devido ao seu impacto sobre no comportamento, bem-estar físico e homeostático. De certa forma evitada pelos investigadores, devido à sua complexidade e dificuldade em estabelecer critérios rigorosos, a criatividade registou uma evolução significativa na investigação nos últimos anos. O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar uma análise meta-analítica dos estudos que relacionam sono e criatividade. Não foram encontrados estudos semelhantes na literatura. A presente meta-análise inclui 9 amostras independentes (representando 5826 participantes) que preencheram os critérios de inclusão. Os resultados indicaram uma esperada relação positiva entre quantidade de sono e criatividade (r=.35, 95%; IC = [.31, .40]). Os testes de homogeneidade revelaram que não existe influência de moderadores nesta relação. Estes, indicaram também uma relação fraca entre qualidade de sono e criatividade, mas influenciada por moderadores. Embora não tenhamos efetuado a análise de moderadores devido à escassez de dados, concluímos que a influência do sono sobre a criatividade é mais do que uma simples relação linear.

This study aims to evaluate the factorial organization of the scale of positive psychological capital in Brazil. Due to the constant changes in the economic and political in contemporary companies, they go through various social and human organizations, demanding that people can be psychosocially organize in a competitive environment and must invest in human resources for better development of positive psychological capacities to face adversities in everyday work, qualifying labor performance. 316 Brazilian workers, from the city of “João Pessoa-PB¿?, male and female, aged 19-69 years, answered a Scale of Positive Psychological Capital (SPPC) and sociodemographic data. The results of internal correlations, Cronbach's alphas and confirmatory analysis revealed that the SPPC is trustworthy and reliable in Brazilian workers, confirming the tetrafatoriality (eg.: selfefficacy, hope, optimism and resilience) as the best factor structure of psychological capital positive.

Organizational health is a crucial theme in health psychology, however few instruments evaluate this concept. This research seeks to overcome this gap through the validation, to the portuguese population, of the Escala de Perceção de Saúde Organizaciona l (EPSaO). This instrument was applied to 437 subjects. The identification of the factorial structure respected the procedures of the authors. The adjustment of the factorial structure relied on the confirmatory factorial analysis of three models. The first, reference model, had two first order factors correlated, the second, a second order factor and, the third, a one - dimensional structure. The confirmatory factorial analysis was realized by the program EQS V6.1 . The results suggest the maintenance of the original factorial structure. Notwithstanding, we?ve proceeded to a re - specification of the models, through the adequacy of the parameter estimates, which conducted to a better adjustment of them. The scale and respective subscales revealed values of the w eighted - omega reliability coefficient above 0,70.

"Capital Psicológico e sua avaliação com o PCQ-12", Estudo Contemporâneos de Subjetividade, 2: 4 - 17. O conceito de capital psicológico positivo é recente, enfatizando capacidades e características importantes dos colaboradores, para a vida organizacional e social. O PCQ-­¿?12 foi formulado para avaliar esta variável, integrando quatro dimensões: (a) autoeficácia; (b) otimismo; (c) esperança; e (d) resiliência. A investigação que agora apresentamos constitui o primeiro estudo de adaptação do PCQ-­¿?12 em Portugal, sendo, ainda, estudada a fiabilidade deste instrumento e comparados os resultados agora obtidos, com os de estudos realizados noutros países. Com uma amostra de 165 profissionais do domínio da saúde, foi avaliada a estrutura fatorial deste instrumento. Os resultados sugerem a identidade das quatro dimensões que integram o instrumento.

Sleep has been a widely studied topic by psychology or by medicine, due to its impact on behavior, and homeostatic physical wellbeing. Somehow avoided by researchers, due to its complexity and difficulty in establishing strict criteria, creativity research has evolved significantly in recent years. The aim of this study was to perform a meta-analytic study relating sleep and creativity. No similar studies were found in the literature. This metaanalysis includes nine independent samples (representing 5826 participants) that met the inclusion criteria. The results showed the expected positive relationship between the amount of sleep and creativity (r = .35, 95%; CI = [.31; .40]). The homogeneity tests showed that there is no influence of moderators in this respect. Also indicated a weak relationship between sleep quality and creativity, but influenced by moderators. Although we have not conducted an analysis of moderators due to few number of studies, we conclude that the influence of sleep on creativity is more than a simple linear relationship.

"Sleep and creativity: A bibliometric study.", Trabalho apresentado em Modern research in health, education and social sciences, In Modern research in health, education and social sciences, Bucharest. Sleep and creativity have been widely addressed in the psychology field, given that both are essential to understand human behavior. Nevertheless, the relationships between these constructs have seldom been the subject of systematic research. With this bibliometric study, we aim to analyze published research on the relationship between sleep and creativity. To accomplish this goal, studies published between 1990 and 2013 in indexed journals of the main international databases, particularly EBSCO and Web of Science, were analyzed. A total of 1306 papers that met the search criteria, selected through the keywords “sleep¿? and “creativity¿?, were evaluated. Of these, 94 articles focused on the relationship between sleep, types of creativity, and creative thinking, were selected. The collected documents were examined descriptively regarding authorship, institutional affiliations, periodicals in which they were published, and more cited descriptors. Amongst the obtained results, it can be emphasized that the United States of America (USA) is the country with the highest number of studies in this area and that the majority of documents (86%) were published from the year 2000 onwards.

"Reputação da profissão de Psicólogo: Um estudo exploratório", Trabalho apresentado em Simpósio Nacional de Investigação em Psicologia, In Actas do Simpósio Nacional de Investigação em Psicologia, Braga. Os psicólogos têm demonstrado interesse em medir as percepções públicas sobre a sua profissão. Benjamin (1986), ao abordar a história da imagem pública da psicologia, reporta a 1892 as primeiras tentativas dos psicólogos em melhorar a sua imagem pública ou reputação. Na conceptualização e gestão da reputação proliferam os instrumentos de medição. Davies et al. (2003) desenvolveram a Escala de Carácter Corporativo para identificar associações à reputação das marcas e organizações. A mesma escala tem-se revelado útil na aferição de percepções sobre países e profissões. Este estudo exploratório, com 539 respondentes, recorreu à Escala de Carácter Corporativo para aferir a reputação da profissão de Psicólogo em Portugal.
