Rita Margarida Teixeira Ascenso. Concluiu Molecular Biology pela Universidade do Algarve em 2008. É Professor Adjunto no Instituto Politécnico de Leiria. Abstract In order to support the intensive development of agricultural crops and, in particular the floricultural inside a greenhouse, with the perspective of a quick distribution in the market, increasing the economic benefits and supported on efficient and intelligent management systems energy, it is mandatory to conceive a model based on Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) This implies, accordingly, increases in renewable primary energy sources utilization coupled with sensing technologies, include developments on Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Computing (CC), supported with Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that will lead to new architectural approach applied to a proposed energy system, based on a sustainable and more engineering autonomous process. This work comes up with a new energy model that retrofits the system of a greenhouse supported with multiple sensors in one grid, to expand into CPS concept to manage sensors and controllers that will improve a profitable energy system.

Abstract Hospital patients prefer to access the Emergency Department to be treated; this preference leads to some concern by the directors of public hospitals. Though, it is important to understand how consultation management is defined, especially in terms of information technology that can help in patients’ management. Among several Information Systems it was evaluated a specific SMS service, checking if it responded to the patients’ needs, whether patients were satisfied with the service and if it was efficient as expected, to reduce absence in scheduled encounters. So, it was followed a methodology: check faults to medical consultations and rebooking, along October 2014, then conduct questionnaires to patients by telephone, in order to understand if they are satisfied with the SMS service to recall a scheduled medical consultation, and if the service failure has or not to do with their faults. Among 2337 patients that fault in a month, 113 patients were questioned by phone (from 441 selected), 87.6% had received SMS on the mobile phone to alert the consultation day and 79.6% feel satisfied with the messaging service. Thus, the SMS service is expected to have an impact on reducing absence to scheduled consultations once patients are satisfied.

Abstract Background Anthropometry refers to the characterisation of the human individual which involves the systematic measurement of the physical properties of the human body for the description of the individual’s body composition and morphology. Today, anthropometry plays an important role in industrial design, clothing design, ergonomics and architecture where statistical data about the distribution of body dimensions in the population are used to optimize products. Changes in lifestyles, nutrition, and ethnic composition of populations lead to changes in the distribution of body dimensions (e.g. the obesity epidemic), and require regular updating of anthropometric data collections. Objectives: This project aims to develop a web application with the intent of aiding and organizing the anthropometric study and follow up of patients regarding the evaluation of their body composition and morphology by professionals and researchers in several areas such as health, sports and body aesthetics. Methods This evaluation is performed using the calculation of various indexes: Body Mass Index, Conicity Index, Waist-to-Hip Ratio, Body Density, Fat Mass Percentage, Muscle Mass, Bone Mass, and also the calculation of the Somatotype, which is the most complete method to characterize individuals regarding their physical appearance, morphology and body composition. Results and conclusions The developed application is a fully anthropometric integrated system available on the web, allowing a global utilization worldwide. As a result, the continuous usage of the application will reflect on the amount of data available on the platform, increasing a valuable impact on future studies and research worldwide (http:// bodysnapshot.dei.estg.ipleiria.pt). Abstract The somatotype technique is the most complete methodology to assess the physical characterisation of both body morphology and composition. This technique allows determining the body morphology and composition associated with a specific health condition, sports or aesthetic issues. Not only does it allow for the individuals to know him/herself, but aids to improve his/her physical condition, especially when it is associated to specific sportive activity and/or performance. The BodyShifter application was designed to perform the determination and optimisation of an individual’s somatotype, to help physicians, nutritionist and sport technicians to determine the individuals’ physical characterisation so that they may perform counselling on how to improve body shape and composition. Bodyshifter determines the current somatotype of an individual and uses a genetic algorithm to propose an optimisation of their somatotype category, for a given performance improvement, better quality of life or recover from a health disorder. In order to present the software’s potential; a case study of two young women will be presented as they decide to optimise their somatotype for a given sport.

Abstract Currently there is a growing interest and worry regarding physical and morphological aspects of mankind. The somatotype technique is the most complete methodology to assess the physical characterization of both body morphology and composition. This technique also allows determining the body morphology and composition associated with a specific health condition, sports or aesthetic issues. Not only does it allow for the individuals to know him/herself, but aids to improve his/her physical condition, especially when it is associated to specific sportive activity and/or performance. BodyShifter was designed to perform the determination of an individual's somatotype for physicians, nutritionist and sports technicians to determine the individuals’ physical characterization so that they may perform counselling on how to improve body shape and composition. Bodyshifter will also include a module to propose a strategy to enable individuals to change from one somatotype category to another within certain boundaries, for a given performance improvement, better quality of life or recover from a health disorder. The proposed strategy will be obtained using a metaheuristic algorithm to minimize the distance between the current and the desired individuals’ somatotype.

Abstract Currently there is a growing interest and worry regarding physical and morphological aspects of mankind. The somatotype technique is the most complete methodology to assess the physical characterization of both body morphology and composition. This technique also allows determining the body morphology and composition associated with a specific health condition, sports or aesthetic issues. Not only does it allow for the individuals to know him/herself, but aids to improve his/her physical condition, especially when it is associated to specific sportive activity and/or performance. BodyShifter was designed to perform the determination of an individual’s somatotype for physicians, nutritionist and sports technicians to determine the individuals’ physical characterization so that they may perform counseling on how to improve body shape and composition. BodyShifter includes a module to propose a strategy to enable individuals to change from one somatotype category to another within certain boundaries, for a given performance improvement, better quality of life or recover from a health disorder. The strategy is based on genetic algorithm to minimize the distance between the current and the desired individuals’ somatotype.
