José de Sousa Ramos

José de Sousa Ramos acabou os seus dias em 2007. Era Professor no Departamento de Matemática do Instituto Superior Técnico, membro do
Center for Mathematical Analysis, Geometry, and Dynamical Systems e colaborador do CFCUL. Era um homem bom, que tinha uma imensa competência, uma alegria imensa em aprender, ensinar, estudar, pensar e discutir. Morreu cedo demais. Era colaborador do nosso centro e merecia que fizéssemos alguma coisa.

O que conseguimos fazer é bem pouco face ao que ele merecia e à estima e consideração que por ele todos tínhamos. É o mero possível como homenagem a um homem que sonhava com o impossível todos os dias.

 

No dia 18 de Abril de 2009, numa sessão promovida pela Junta de Freguesia de Sobral de Adiça, familiares, amigos e colaboradores reuniram-se para fazer uma homenagem ao Professor José de Sousa Ramos. Na altura foi inaugurada uma escultura e foram pronunciadas as seguintes palavras de Homenagem por Dimas Simas Lopes. (Veja aqui)
