I graduated in Environmental Biology in 2006 by the University of Lisbon and received my master degree in Ecology and Environmental Management in 2007 by the same institution, with a master thesis in sexual interferences in Sorraia horses. In 2012 I performed a post-graduation in Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare in the Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada (ISPA), with a work on the effect of environmental enrichment in piglets’ behaviour, skin lesions and weight gain.
Since 2013 I am conducting a Ph.D. in Biology (specialty Ethology) at the University of Lisbon under the supervision of Prof. Luís Vicente from CFCUL, Dr. Susana A. M. Varela from cE3c and Prof. Anne Magurran from the University of St Andrews.
The goal of my PhD is to understand mechanisms underlying males’ mating decisions and the model of my research is the guppy (P. reticulata).

2013: PhD student at the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon, with the thesis entitled “The role of male sexual behaviour on conspecifics’ mating decisions”, funded by FCT (SFRH / BD / 90686 / 2012).

2007-2008: Involved in the LIFE-COEX project (Improving coexistence of large carnivores and agriculture in Southern Europe) as Grupo Lobo’ worker: interviewer of several entities for the realization of stray dogs’ management plan (action D1); technician responsible for the installation and monitoring of electric fences, used as a method for preventing attacks by wolves (action D4).

2006-2007: Investigation of proximal and functional factors of sexual interferences in a subpopulation of Sorraia horses, an autochthonous Portuguese breed, considered at risk of extinction.r
