From the Student Ombudsman Office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I thank the students of the Polit\u00e9cnico de Leiria for the trust they have placed in me by electing me as Student Ombudsman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 6 July 2016, you conferred upon me the position in which I propose to repay your trust, as I had occasion to say in the speech I made then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will try to perform a proactive ombudsman role that will eventually require the study of general problems affecting students and the assessment of the possibility of contributing to their resolution. For this to be possible I count on you in the certainty that, although my main function is the defence of the rights, freedoms, guarantees and legitimate interests of students, it will have to be ensured through informal means, because in the last instance it is the instituted powers that can deliberate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Student Ombudsman is an independent consulting body elected by the students. It is responsible for assessing students\u2019 complaints and act in accordance with their conclusion. To defend and promote the students\u2019 rights and interests, the Student Ombudsman can make general recommendations or more specific proposals to the rightful governance bodies, especially in the field of academic activities and social services.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

According to the Portuguese Legal Regime of Higher Education Institutions, the Ombudsman\u2019s activities are carried out together with the schools\u2019 pedagogical councils, the Student Support Services and the Students\u2019 Unions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To defend and promote the students\u2019 rights and interests, the Student Ombudsman can make general recommendations or more specific proposals to the rightful governance bodies, especially in the field of academic activities and social services. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A Provedoria do Polit\u00e9cnico de Leiria \u00e9 um \u00f3rg\u00e3o fundamental na defesa dos direitos e interesses da comunidade estudantil. Com compet\u00eancias nos dom\u00ednios pedag\u00f3gico, a\u00e7\u00e3o social e legislativo, visando atender as nossas queixas ou recomenda\u00e7\u00f5es dentro destes temas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9 fundamental para melhorar a experi\u00eancia acad\u00e9mica, facilitando a media\u00e7\u00e3o de conflitos, quest\u00f5es e comunica\u00e7\u00e3o entre estudantes e institui\u00e7\u00e3o competente, em conjunto com as ademais Associa\u00e7\u00f5es de Estudantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na nossa institui\u00e7\u00e3o temos a ventura de poder contar com a aten\u00e7\u00e3o e apoio do Sr. Provedor Pedro de Matos Gon\u00e7alves que trabalha continuamente para garantir a cautela dos interesses dos alunos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ao Provedor do Estudante compete zelar pelos direitos e interesses de cada estudante da institui\u00e7\u00e3o, receber as sua participa\u00e7\u00f5es e reclama\u00e7\u00f5es, auxili\u00e1-los e mediar no acesso a servi\u00e7os de seu direito, dignos e de qualidade, mas, acima de tudo, ser ponte de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o entre os estudantes e a institui\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neste Polit\u00e9cnico temos ao nosso dispor um Provedor de Estudante que desempenha o seu cargo com grande mestria e prontid\u00e3o mantendo sempre uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o de proximidade no sentido de aumentar a inclus\u00e3o, fomentar o crescimento conjunto e cont\u00ednuo e melhorar a experi\u00eancia universit\u00e1ria dos estudantes e todos os servi\u00e7os e condi\u00e7\u00f5es associados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Associa\u00e7\u00e3o de Estudantes da Escola Superior de Turismo e Tecnologia do Mar e todos os estudantes que esta representa refor\u00e7am a continua vontade de colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com a Provedoria e renova o agradecimento profundo por todo o trabalho e dedica\u00e7\u00e3o do Provedor Pedro de Matos Gon\u00e7alves que, em momento algum deixou de cooperar e trabalhar continuamente para o bem de todos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Segundo o Regulamento do Provedor do Estudante do Instituto Polit\u00e9cnico de Leiria, o Provedor do Estudante \u00e9 eleito para o seu cargo pelos estudantes, desta forma \u00e9 um elemento aut\u00f3nomo e imparcial, dentro da academia do Polit\u00e9cnico de Leiria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9 o \u00f3rg\u00e3o respons\u00e1vel por analisar, vigiar e responder aos problemas colocados pelos nossos estudantes, de forma individual ou coletiva. Conseguindo fornecer as informa\u00e7\u00f5es necess\u00e1rias para prevenir, resguardar e impulsionar consensos nas reclama\u00e7\u00f5es e preocupa\u00e7\u00f5es dos estudantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na nossa institui\u00e7\u00e3o podemos contar com o Sr. Provedor Pedro de Matos Gon\u00e7alves, que aliado \u00e0s Associa\u00e7\u00f5es de Estudantes do Polit\u00e9cnico de Leiria, visa promover melhores condi\u00e7\u00f5es para o funcionamento de toda a comunidade acad\u00e9mica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Polit\u00e9cnico de Leiria, there is a set of departments and people available to welcome and help students, whenever they need: teachers, the course coordinator, the Pedagogical Council, the Students’ Union, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In cooperation with these entities, the Student Ombudsman is an independent and elected by students governing body. It is responsible for evaluating the students\u2019 complaints and, according to their evaluation, make pertinent observations to the competent departments, as well as making generic recommendations with a view to safeguarding their interests, especially in the field of pedagogical activity and school social action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
