EuroDIG – European dialogue on Internet Governance started as a European movement, following the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and is supported by a group of institutional partners, namely the Council of Europe, the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM), the Internet Society (ISOC), the European Commission, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the Réseaux IP Européens Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC), the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the European Regional At-Large Organization (EURALO) and the European Telecommunications Network Operators' Association (ETNO).
The main purpose of EuroDIG is to provide an inclusive, open and transparent process of gathering stakeholders, helping to form pan-European perspectives on policies concerning to the Internet, which are communicated at the annual global IGF. More importantly, these views contribute to the policies in this area on several European countries.
The first edition of EuroDIG took place in Strasbourg (2008) and, since then, the meetings are annual: Geneva (2009), Madrid (2010), Belgrade (2011), Stockholm (2012), Lisbon (2013), Berlin (2014) and Sofia (2015), Brussels (2016), Tallinn (2017), Tbilisi (2018) and The Hague (2019). The 2020' edition will be held in Trieste (10-12 June).
