Welcome II Programme
2010 Announcement
The Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) launches the Programme WELCOME II – Promoting the return of researchers to the European Research Area.
The Call is open until March 14, 2011 at 5pm (Lisbon time).
The Programme is a Co-Funding Scheme supported by:
- The Marie Curie Action COFUND, of the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Commission;
- The National State budget of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCTES) of Portugal.
This Programme is cofunded through the 7th Research Framework Programme of the European Commission, and through the Portuguese state budget, through Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
The Programme promotes the mobility of researchers holding the nationalities of a EU Member State or of an Associated Country to FP7, living in any Third Country for at least the last 3 years, to join institutions located in Portugal. Third Countries are countries that are neither Member-States nor Associated Countries to FP7.
The Programme aims to fund three year contracts between Portuguese institutions and 54 researchers with a doctoral degree. Beneficiaries of the Programme will be recognized as Marie Curie Fellows.

The evaluation criteria together with the eligibility, selection and award criteria, for this funding scheme are set out in the guide for applicants and in the guide for evaluators. It is the responsibility of both the researcher and the host institution to upload and submit the corresponding parts of the proposal, ensuring their validity and completeness before the deadline. Non sealed proposals will not be considered.
