FCT is a partner of the ERA-NET SusAn, a project that will extend and strengthen the transnational cooperation between research funding organisations on Sustainable Animal Production, during a five year period of 2016-2020. The second objective is to build a Strategic and Innovation Research Agenda on Sustainable Animal Production, which will define research priorities on Sustainable Animal Production. ERA-NET SusAn will also organise several joint activities in order to promote research in Sustainable Animal Production, crossing boundaries of countries and regions within and outside the Europe. The SusAn ERA-NET consortium consists of 37 partner organisations from 21 EU Member States and 2 EU Associated Countries.

Consortia should submit cross-cutting research proposals which address all three areas, and build on the sustainability triangle of economic competitiveness, social acceptability and environmental protection.
Austria, Belgium (Wallonia and Flanders), Check Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Irland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (Basque region), Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Turkey and United Kingdom
Applicants from countries not participating in the call can be part of a consortium, as long as they are able to secure their own funding.
National funding commitment for the call: 400.000€
Maximum requested funding for a consortium coordinated by Portugal: 180.000 €
Maximum requested funding for a consortium with Portuguese participation: 130.000 €
Note: If more than one Portuguese institution participates in a given consortium, the budget has to be shared. Portuguese institutions must follow the National Regulation Regulamento de acesso a financiamento de projetos de IC&DT. The dedication (FTI) in transnational projects is not taken into account for the 100% (FTE) dedication to national projects.
