The Historical Archive of Science and Technology
The Historical Archive of Science and Technology was established in 2011, as an outcome of the project of treating the collections that have come into the custody of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) over the years, and making them available to the scientific community and the public.
The archive's mission is to preserve the history and memory of the organisation of science and technology in Portugal, by treating, organising, raising awareness of and making available (both physically and online) the archival and bibliographic heritage held by FCT, as well as others of scientific and historical interest. Its goal is to provide information to the scientific community and the general public by promoting and encouraging the study of science policy and management of research funding in Portugal.
A dedicated website aims to be a digital platform for providing and sharing knowledge, where it is possible to access scientific, historical, and other types of information. The website also aims to foster and promote dialogue with the scientific community and with the general public.
