EuroHPC – European High Performance Computing
EuroHPC is a Joint Technology Initiative established under Article 187 of the
Treaty of the Functioning of the European Union, involving the European
Commission and Member and Associated States, and supported by the European
Technology Platform for High Performance Computing (ETP4HPC) and the Big Data
Value Association (BDVA). EuroHPC's objective is to contribute to making the
European Union a leader in high-performance computing technologies by
supporting the development of exascale supercomputers.

EuroHPC Calls for Proposals
EuroHPC is launching its calls for "Innovation Actions" (IA), "Research and
Innovation Actions" (RIA) and "Coordination and Support Action" (CSA) in the
field of supercomputing. The evaluation process will be carried out in a
single step, using an international panel of experts. More information

How to Apply
- Proposals will have two levels of eligibility check: at European level,
according to the eligibility rules of the European Portal; at national level,
according to the funding rules of each involved agency.
- All applicants are advised to contact their national funding agency prior
to proposal submission.
- The proposals are submitted electronically through the
European Portal "Funding and tenders"
- The participation of Portuguese entities will be regulated by the
Special Grants Regulation;
- All national entities involved in proposals selected for funding will be
required to submit a Declaration of Commitment, duly signed by the
responsible researcher and the legal representative of the entity. The
declaration to be signed will be provided by FCT in the case of selection for
funding.
Financial commitment and rules of participation
- FCT will provide, for participation in the 2021 call, €1,050,000 of
national funds through the FCT budget.
- Total national co-funding for each national recipient entity is limited
to €350,000 per entity, per proposal (i.e. several entities involved in the
same proposal may request up to €350,000 each).
- National participants must sign an Acceptance Agreement, which will be
made available by FCT after the results of the calls are known, in which the
conditions for national funding will be established, according to the
regulations mentioned above.
National funding rates
EuroHPC tenders are co-financed by the European Commission through the
EuroHPC JU, at a rate ranging from 35% to 100%.
Maximum financing duration - 36 months.
