International Polar Year
The International Polar Year runs from March 2007 to March 2009 with thousands of participating scientists from more than 60 countries working in questions related to the polar regions in diverse scientific areas. This is the first time Portugal participates in an International Polar Year (this is the 3rd). FCT specifically supports the activities of Portuguese researchers through the PROPolar program – Programa Polar Português.
