Presentation of the Strategy and Action Plan for Digital Employability

The Estratégia e Plano de Ação para a Empregabilidade Digital 2015-2020 (Strategy and Action Plan for Digital Employability) was presented to the public on June 24th during a ceremony that took place in Lisbon at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

This strategy aims at creating conditions to boost employment in the digital field as a result of an analysis made by deighteen public and private entities, which are a part of the Portuguese Coalition for Digital Employability.

The goal, which involves Economics, Education, and Employment, is to combine public and private tools in order to address the supply of vacant ICT jobs. If no measures are taken in Portugal, this year alone (2015) there will be five thousand job vacancies in the ICT sector. We expect the ICT sector to leave 15 thousand jobs unfilled by 2020. The Portuguese Coalition for Digital Employability intends to take action so that this deficit will be eliminated.
